Re-Learn the Art of Being Here Now

Hi, I’m Juliet. I’m a meditation teacher, specializing in secular Mindfulness practice.

I believe that meditation is for everyone; it doesn’t need to be over-thought, it doesn’t need to be religious, it doesn’t have to be fussy or strict. In the next hundred years or so I genuinely believe we’ll look back with disbelief that meditation wasn’t more widely prescribed by healthcare professionals, to the extent that physical exercise is recommended today. From my experience working with clients from different walks of life, it’s clear to me that it’s also about finding the right type of meditation for you; whether that involves sitting in silence and tuning into your breath, practicing more physically-exerting breathing exercises, or using emersive experiences such as Deep Listening or Forest Bathing to ease you into that state of blissful awareness. There is a gateway for everyone and once you have found your way in, meditation will become your best friend: a profound and deeply rewarding space to check into and relieve yourself from the grip modern life.

Classes & Courses

I offer classes and courses in the following categories:

Mindfulness Meditation: drawing from my training in traditional Buddhist Vipassana practice, Japanese Zen and the secular Mindfulness movement over the course of 20 years, this practice is usually where we will begin. We work on that mental “muscle” that brings us out of thought and back into the present moment again and again as we learn the nature of our minds and to accept what arises in consciousness without judgement, observing what is here now with playful curiosity. Classes are generally sitting.

Emersive/Experiential Meditation: Similar to breath-focused mindfulness meditation, this practice involves a more global awareness of other sensations and experiences going on around us while we either sit in stillness or walk mindfully.

Transcendental Meditation (TM): using the sounds of ancient Sanskrit words from the Vedic lineage, TM gently guides the mind away from thoughts and other distractions and into a place of transcendent quiet, an open space to rest the mind completely. (Mantras are repeated mentally; this is not the same as chanting meditation, where mantras are repeated aloud).

Pranayama Breathing Meditation: bringing the focus to the body through the use of traditional Yogic methods of regulating the breath. This physically energizing branch of meditation is a great option for those looking for a more dynamic practice, or who struggle with anxiety or overwhelm when sitting in silence.

I’d love to meet and learn about you, try out a taster class together or create a bespoke program for your wellbeing, returning a sense of loving calmness into your life.
